Ultrahuman Ring Pro Review: 15-Day Battery, AI Health Insights & Smart Ring Features

The new smart ring promises 15 days of battery life and real-time AI health tracking. I look at whether this wearable is worth the high price tag.
Ultrahuman Ring Pro Review: 15-Day Battery, AI Health Insights & Smart Ring Features

Most years, I walk away unimpressed by the iterative updates in the wearable tech space, but the Ultrahuman Ring Pro is genuinely different. We usually get a slightly brighter screen, a marginally thinner chassis, and maybe an extra hour of battery life if we are lucky.

I have tested enough fitness trackers to know that the biggest hurdle to actually using them long-term is the constant need to charge them. You take it off to charge, you forget to put it back on, and suddenly your expensive health tracker is gathering dust on your nightstand.

When I first heard about this new device, I was a bit skeptical. I’ve worn the gen 1 Ultrahuman Ring daily for two or three years now and swear by it, but the claims about the Pro sounded too good to be true. A smart ring with a 15-day battery life and a charging case that holds another 45 days of power? It sounded like a marketing exaggeration. But after digging into the specs and the new architecture, my opinion flipped completely.

This is not a cheap device. At $479, it sits firmly at the premium end of the market. But you can use my discount code “pete10” for 10% off your Ultrahuman Ring Pro purchase.

The Ring Pro is a significant investment for anyone looking to track their sleep, recovery, and overall health without the distraction of a glowing screen on their wrist. You can check out my comparison of top fitness tech devices in my video.

If you are trying to figure out how to reduce screen time for kids or even for yourself, moving away from a smartwatch to a screenless ring is a very practical step. That is exactly what I am going to break down here.

What makes this new smart ring different

What makes this new smart ring different

This third-generation smart ring represents a massive leap forward in hardware. The company did not simply tweak the old design. They re-engineered the entire device from the ground up to address the most common complaints people have about wearable technology.

Inside the titanium shell, there is a new dual-core processor equipped with on-device machine learning. This allows the ring to crunch the numbers your body is throwing out much faster and more accurately than before. They have also redesigned the heart-rate sensing architecture to improve signal quality, particularly when you are sleeping or recovering from a workout. Sleep tracking is notoriously difficult to get right, so any improvement in sensor accuracy is a welcome change.

One of the most frustrating bits about older smart rings was the limited onboard memory. If you went away for a weekend and forgot to sync your ring to your phone, you risked losing your data. The Ultrahuman Ring Pro solves this by storing up to 250 days of health data directly on the device. You could theoretically go off the grid for months and still keep your health history intact.

It also includes a practical safety feature called ProRelease Technology. This allows the ring to be cut off more easily in an emergency. It is the sort of detail you hope you never need, but it makes a lot of sense for a device designed to be worn around the clock.

Battery life that actually lasts

The headline feature of the Ultrahuman Ring Pro is undoubtedly the battery life. Fifteen days on a single charge is a massive deal in a category where most competitors struggle to last a full week. It means less time thinking about charging and more time actually tracking your health metrics.

I have always found that the less friction there is with a piece of tech, the more likely I am to use it. Having to charge a ring every four days creates friction. Pushing that out to over two weeks changes the dynamic entirely. You can go on a long vacation without ever needing to pack a charger.

But the really impressive part is the new Pro Charging Case. I have seen a lot of charging solutions for wearables, and this is genuinely one of the best implementations I have come across. Instead of a basic charging puck, the company includes a case that holds up to 45 days of additional battery life. It supports Qi wireless charging, so you can drop it on the same pad you use for your phone.

The case is far more than a basic battery bank. It features an LED charge indicator, built-in haptics, and an integrated speaker. If you misplace the case, you can use the Find My Case feature in the companion app to make it play a sound. It can even store up to a year of the ring's captured data and run diagnostics to fix firmware issues without bricking the device.

Jade AI and real-time health tracking

Jade AI and real-time health tracking

Hardware upgrades are great, but the software is where things get really interesting. Alongside the new ring, the company launched Jade, a real-time biointelligence AI platform.

Most health apps are entirely retrospective. They show you a chart of how poorly you slept last night or how high your heart rate was during a run. Jade is designed to be proactive. It actively interprets your data across the ring and other connected devices to offer real-time, actionable guidance.

For example, it can pull insights from your metrics and automatically trigger breathwork exercises or prompt an AFib detection scan if it notices something unusual. The company says future updates will allow Jade to do a lot more, like controlling your smart home temperature based on your body heat or even ordering food. I have not tested those futuristic features yet, but if those claims hold up, it could be a very powerful tool.

The reassuring part is that Jade will be available to all users globally, including those with older models. You do not need to buy the newest hardware to get the software benefits.

Who is this smart ring actually for

Smart rings are still a relatively young category, but they are quietly becoming one of the most compelling alternatives to traditional smartwatches. They are lighter, less distracting, and easier to live with long-term.

If you are someone who loves wearing traditional mechanical watches, a smart ring is the perfect compromise. You get all the health tracking benefits without having to double-wrist or give up your favorite timepiece. It is also ideal for people who find sleeping with a bulky smartwatch uncomfortable.

This new model is specifically aimed at power users who want deep insights without the hassle of constant charging. It is for the person who wants to track their circadian rhythm, monitor their recovery, and keep an eye on their overall well-being without being bombarded by notifications.

Comparing the Ultrahuman Ring Pro to the Ring Air

If you are currently using the older Ring Air or trying to decide between the two, the differences are stark. The Ring Air is still a solid device, but the Pro model outclasses it in almost every metric.

The price jump is noticeable, but the extended battery life and the included charging case make the premium easier to justify. If you are pairing this with a high-end smartphone, perhaps waiting for the Samsung S26 release date to upgrade your whole tech ecosystem, the Pro model feels like the right fit.

Now available in the USA

If you live in the United States, this will be your first chance in almost a year to grab an Ultrahuman Ring.

Last year, the US International Trade Commission ruled in favor of rival brand Oura in a patent dispute, as reported by TechCrunch. This ruling prevented the company from importing new ring inventory into the country. The US accounted for nearly half of their daily active users, so this was a massive blow to the business.

To work around the patent issues, Ultrahuman developed the new hardware with a completely new design. They submitted the new device to US Customs and Border Protection for clearance and recently received it. Ultrahuman is back stateside!

What Countries Can Get the Ultrahuman Ring Pro?

If you are based in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, or anywhere else, you can pre-order it right now in sizes 5 through 14. It comes in four colors: Bionic Gold, Space Silver, Aster Black, and Raw Titanium. Shipments are expected to start in May.

In the meantime, you might want to check out other tech options, like finding the best kids smart watch for your family while you wait for your new Ring Pro to arrive.

Final verdict on the next generation of smart rings

The wearable market has felt stagnant for a while, but this new release genuinely shakes things up. The combination of a 15-day battery life, a highly functional charging case, and proactive AI insights makes this a very compelling package.

It is a lot more expensive than a basic fitness band, and the US availability issues are incredibly frustrating. But if you are outside the US and want a premium, screenless health tracker that you only have to charge twice a month, this is absolutely worth paying attention to.

Frequently asked questions

Does the ring require a monthly subscription?

No, it does not. Unlike some competitors that lock your health data behind a paywall, the core features of the ring and the Jade AI platform are available without a subscription. They do offer optional paid services like the Blood Vision metabolic panel, but the standard tracking is subscription-free.

Can you wear the ring while swimming or showering?

Yes, the ring is designed to be worn 24/7. It is water-resistant, so you can safely wear it in the shower, while swimming, or during heavy workouts without worrying about water damage.

How does the Find My Case feature work?

The Pro Charging Case has an integrated speaker and Bluetooth connectivity. If you lose it around the house, you can open the companion app on your phone and trigger the case to play a sound, making it much easier to locate.

Will the Jade AI features work on older models?

Yes, the Jade biointelligence AI is a platform-wide upgrade. It will be available to all users globally, including those who own the older Ring Air model.
