There's something quite impressive about the way retailers can put a big red discount sticker next to a product and suddenly make spending $1,000 feel like saving money.
Apple Black Friday 2026 deals have a way of doing this. You start by looking for a charger, spot a MacBook with $300 off, and somehow end up wondering if your perfectly good laptop has become a bit too slow overnight.
Apple products are especially tempting because Apple rarely offers big discounts itself. But after years of reviewing technology, I'd rather grab a deal on a brilliant previous-generation MacBook, iPad, or Apple Watch than pay more for the latest model simply because it's new.
There's another complication this year. Apple increased prices across much of its Mac and iPad lineup in June, so the original launch price and today's regular price aren't always the same. That makes checking the history behind a discount more important than ever.
In this guide, I'll look at the early deals worth watching and the ones I'd skip, with a few tips on spotting inflated discounts.
Apple Black Friday 2026 deals have already started
Black Friday falls on November 27, 2026, with Cyber Monday following on November 30. But retailers are already advertising discounts on selected Apple products, and some of the bigger promotions are getting underway before November.
According to Best Buy's holiday calendar, its DoorBOOsters begin October 30, followed by early Black Friday deals on November 6 and the main sale starting November 19.
That doesn't mean every Apple product will suddenly become cheaper on those dates. Some of the strongest offers can appear before the main shopping weekend, particularly when retailers are trying to clear older stock.
I'd start comparing prices now rather than assuming November 27 will automatically be the cheapest day to buy.
My Black Friday Apple deals hit list

These are the categories I'd prioritize for Apple Black Friday 2026, based on the products I'd recommend buying rather than whichever ones happen to have the biggest discounts.
These aren't confirmed Black Friday offers. They're the products I'd be tracking, with the final decision coming down to how far the prices fall.
Early prices worth a second look
The M5 MacBook Air and AirPods Pro 3 have already appeared at reduced prices this October, but neither is as straightforward a bargain as the discount sticker might suggest.
The M5 MacBook Air discount has a backstory
As of late October 2026, Best Buy has listed the 13-inch M5 MacBook Air with 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage for $1,149, compared with Apple's current $1,299 regular price.
That's $150 off Apple's current price. But when the M5 Air launched in March, it started at $1,099. Apple increased the price in June, and that same configuration also dropped to $1,099 during Best Buy's early October promotion.
So $1,149 isn't terrible, but I'd be aiming for $1,099 or less before getting particularly excited.
AirPods Pro 3 tell a similar story. They dropped to around $179 in October, well below Apple's regular price of $249. I'd have a hard time recommending paying full price when we've already seen them go substantially cheaper.
Does Apple do Black Friday?

Yes, but Apple Black Friday deals work a little differently from the discounts you see at retailers like Best Buy. Rather than reducing the price of every eligible product, Apple has traditionally offered Apple Gift Cards with qualifying purchases during its Black Friday Shopping Event.
In 2025, some purchases included gift cards worth up to $250, depending on the product. That was last year's promotion, though. As of October 28, Apple hasn't confirmed the terms or gift-card amounts for its 2026 event.
A gift card won't lower your checkout price
A $150 Apple Gift Card sounds great, but you're still paying full price at checkout. A retailer knocking $150 off the same MacBook saves you that money immediately. Unless I've already got another Apple purchase planned, I'd take the discount.
Black Friday Apple deals I'm eyeing
The strongest opportunities might come from products that were excellent six months ago and haven't suddenly become terrible because Apple released something newer.
Here's where I'd focus:
MacBook Air comes first

The MacBook Air would be my starting point for anyone buying a laptop this Black Friday. The 13-inch and 15-inch M5 models offer plenty of performance for productivity, studying, photo editing, and even some fairly demanding creative projects. They're also lighter and easier to carry than a MacBook Pro.
I'd look for at least 16GB of unified memory and enough storage for the next few years, then compare that configuration across retailers.
A discounted M4 MacBook Air could be an even better purchase. I'd happily save a few hundred dollars rather than pay extra for a performance improvement I might never notice.
MacBook Neo deserves a look
Apple's cheapest laptop is another one worth watching. The MacBook Neo launched at $599 in March before increasing to $699 in June. It uses an A18 Pro chip and is designed for everyday tasks like browsing, writing, streaming, and studying.
There are compromises, particularly the base model's 8GB of memory and limited ports. The MacBook Neo vs Air decision comes down to those differences. The Neo saves money upfront, while the Air gives you more memory, connectivity, and room for demanding work.
A decent Black Friday discount could make the Neo much more appealing, especially for students or anyone who doesn't need a particularly powerful laptop.
iPad deals worth chasing

Apple's iPads aren't getting any cheaper, especially after June's price increases. I'd look at the iPad with A16 or iPad Air with M4 before spending more on a Pro.
The standard iPad is perfectly capable of handling streaming, reading, browsing, note-taking, and general family use. The Air makes more sense for creative applications, multitasking, or regular keyboard use.
I'd also watch the iPad mini with A17 Pro. The new OLED mini starts at $699, so a decent discount on the previous generation could be tempting for anyone who prefers a smaller tablet.
The iPad Pro M5 is worth checking too, although even at a discount, most people don't need to spend that much on an iPad.
Check the exact generation before ordering. Apple's naming makes it remarkably easy to buy something different from the model you thought you were getting.
AirPods deserve patience
I've used the AirPods Pro 3 extensively, and the improved noise cancellation and sound quality make them a strong option. They've already dropped to around $179, so I'd be looking for a similar discount rather than paying full retail.
AirPods 5 are another option, particularly for people who prefer an open-ear design. Both versions have Active Noise Cancellation. The $129 model covers the essentials, while the $149 version adds a wireless charging case, longer battery life, and extra controls.
I'd also watch AirPods Max 2 for a substantial discount, along with clearance offers on older AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 2 models.
I'd check the generation and charging case carefully. There's not much point saving $20 on older AirPods when the newer version might be only slightly more expensive.
Last year's Apple Watch could win
The Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 are relatively recent releases, so I wouldn't assume enormous discounts are coming.
I'd pay more attention to the Apple Watch Series 11 and Apple Watch SE 3, especially for people who mainly want notifications, fitness tracking, sleep data, and everyday smartwatch features.
The Ultra has some excellent hardware for outdoor adventures and people who need longer battery life, but it's an expensive way to check your messages and count your steps. For plenty of people, a discounted previous-generation watch could be the smarter purchase.
That free iPhone might cost you

This is where I'd be particularly skeptical of advertised savings. An iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max might be promoted with hundreds of dollars off, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're getting a straightforward discount on an unlocked phone.
Carrier offers can require a qualifying trade-in, a premium mobile plan, or monthly bill credits spread over several years. Some switching offers have different requirements, so check the conditions before signing up.
Those deals can make sense when you're already on the required plan and aren't planning to switch carriers. But changing to a more expensive plan purely to qualify for a supposedly free phone can wipe out the savings.
I'd also compare unlocked iPhone 17 and iPhone 17e prices. Previous-generation models can be excellent purchases when retailers start clearing stock.
The number I'd focus on is the total cost of the phone and any required service commitment, not the discount in the headline.
The boring gear worth discounting
Some of the smartest Black Friday purchases are the accessories you've already been meaning to buy. They might not be as exciting as a new MacBook, but saving money on something you'll use every day is a much better outcome than buying another gadget that ends up in a drawer.
Here's what I'd keep an eye on:
- MagSafe chargers and Qi2 power banks: Options from Anker, Belkin, and ESR are worth comparing for travel bags and charging stations.
- Samsung T9 Portable SSD: External storage can save MacBook owners from paying Apple's prices for larger internal SSDs.
- USB-C hubs and docking stations: Handy for adding ports, monitors, and storage to a MacBook Air.
- iPad accessories: The Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard are worth tracking, but check compatibility before ordering.
- AirTag trackers: Individual trackers and multipacks are sensible purchases for keys, luggage, and bags.
- Spigen iPhone cases and screen protectors: Worth picking up at a discount when you've already bought a new phone.
The right iPad accessories can also make an older tablet more pleasant to use, which might be a better investment than replacing the whole thing.
The Apple deals I'd leave on the shelf

A discounted M5 MacBook Pro could still cost considerably more than the MacBook Air that handles your work perfectly well. The same goes for an iPad Pro when a standard iPad would do the job, or an Apple Watch Ultra when you don't need its additional features.
I'd also be careful with expensive bundles. Retailers sometimes advertise impressive savings by combining devices with subscriptions, accessories, and protection plans. Those extras aren't much of a bargain when you wouldn't have bought them separately.
Carrier promotions deserve the same scrutiny, particularly when a free phone involves several years of bill credits.
And don't forget to check the condition. New, open-box, refurbished, and used devices aren't interchangeable. There's nothing wrong with buying refurbished technology, but the price needs to reflect the warranty, condition, and return policy.
Buy early or wait for Black Friday?
I wouldn't automatically wait until November 27 when a strong price appears earlier. There's no guarantee the same product will be cheaper on Black Friday, and popular configurations can sell out.
For laptops and tablets, that means comparing the exact memory and storage options rather than two listings that look almost identical. I'd also check the retailer's return and price-matching policies. The FTC recommends comparing prices and checking retailer policies, too.
Best Buy, for example, has announced an extended holiday return window for many qualifying purchases, although exclusions apply. That doesn't mean every price drop automatically qualifies for a refund, so check the terms.
My biggest tip for Apple Black Friday 2026? Decide what you need before looking at the discounts. There's nothing wrong with paying a little more for the right product, and there's certainly no point spending $1,000 on something you didn't need because a retailer convinced you it was a bargain.
